Fox and Perky at Middlesex, N.J.

It's time to start a little chatter about our June 5 date. We will run Fox .35 speed and Perky Speed using the St. Louis rules for Fox and the 'National' rules for Perky. Fuel will be provided. Flying can begin at 11am and we will encourage as many attempts as you wish until 6pm. This will provide a great warmup/test 'n tune before the Brodak Blast!
   Also, our Sportsman Clown event is on the agenda.  Come on out!!  Any questions. Ask here.  TS

Looking forward to it.

I will have a perky with an f2d fora, should be good for 100-110mph (?).  Will have a fox race with a box stock engine, maybe good for 75-80mph (?) with an 8x8 (?).  As usual, will have my sport clowns, I know they will do 140 (laps that is...).

We got to test fly another new Fox .35 Speed Ship last week. The 'Blaster'. It flew well and will be ready for June 5 at Middlesex. A couple of others are near completion!!

It's not hard to fly but you need one guy to launch it and one guy at the handle. Kinda hard with just one guy.

It is if you are  used to planes that seldom exceed 70 mph.   Flew a combat wing at 90+ and was glad I could do loops and eights.

John, Everyone at Middlesex flys at nationals level and, I think I can handle a Fox after flying F2A. The reason I'm asking is it's nice to have a pilot or a pitman lined up before I make a 5 hour round trip to the circle. I hope some Perkys come down from the Circle Burners.

To All, Our first Speed Meet is coming up this Sunday. This is a chance to come out and give it a try. We will have extra lines you can borrow and will provide as much help as you need. There will be a few 'maiden flights' among our club members. It will be, at the least and weather permitting, very exciting!!  TS

    RAIN DATE?? What's a rain date?  AMA sanctioned contests are only canceled for natural disasters and/or a 100% vote of those in attendance. If it rains, and there is no lightning, flights must be held if a contestant wants to fly. Been there and done that many times in my life time. That is what I have always liked about attending contests. If I go, I know there should be some one there to time a flight. The same for AMA sanctioned motorcycle enduro races. I've run them in blizzard conditions and during flash floods.
   Never heard of a rain date for a model airplane contest.

In Mountain View park the rain reconstitutes the ton of deer @#$% in the grassy pit area. Are you man enough to deal with that McEntee?

     Why sure!! Can't be any worse than the deer poop and goose dropping we get at Buder Park, in addition to the low level bombing runs that flocks of geese release when they fly over. If you wanna fly bad enough, you'll find a way to be there and deal with the conditions. That's one of the reasons they call it a contest! Go and be prepared for anything.
