I doubt any Lancaster ever had a symmetrical airfoil. The only one I have ever seen listed is the naca 23018  root, 23012 tip.

Isn't the second one the version that was built for world competition and then a rule change out lawed it?  PJ Rowland I believe.

Indeed ,P.J. . A bit of ' anti ' here , as it wasnt a Nobler ( mod ) , or is it ?  S?P

Was a few In overspan for FAI , now .

BUT a HALIFAX has near identical planform to the LANCASTER ,

As he inadvertantly based it on the worst semi scale pommy R.C. Lancaster ,
It'd be a piece or proverbial to chop the tips square , and carve a few bits for the front .
The spinners are even the HALIFAX shape .

The Lancaster ( should have ) a low Tailplane , The Halifax has a High Tailplane .

The Late halifaxes were pretty good , Roomier & lower loss rate than Lancs .

Cor !

These suckers had Centaurus'es And The SAME WING ( The Fri 13th Halifax repicaer Uses One ) so the coulda donea even better Halifax ,
putting 4 x 2.000 + Hp in it .

Used to be a line up of them at Whenuapai , untill about 1970 .
