Eureka Kit: Grumman SA-16 Albatros
« on: June 16, 2016, 09:57:57 AM »
Greetings  :)!  I recently received this kit from a fellow modeler but it is really in somewhat rough shape  ???.  The plans shows a length of 37" and a wingspan of 53".  I would love to tackle the project but I need to get a copy of the wing plan if anyone has it  :-\.  I am  willing to pay for it ;D.  Thanks in advance.

when you look for documentation pay attention to the Albatross configuration, there is a short wing and long wing version with the same basic fuselage.

I've been searching Ebay, worldwide, in hopes of finding one but ever heard of the proverbial "needle in a haystack"!!   :-\

This isn't the exact answer you are searching for, but mrhobby on eBay offers an Albatross in 1/16 scale. I have done business with him in the past and he will plot his plans to a custom scale for a nominal fee. While not exactly the Eureka construction in detail, a wing is a wing and you should be able to make a very nice model.

Thank you!  Yes, I did look at his offering and it looks pretty nice.  There will be a substantial difference in the wing sizes though as his wing 71" versus the needed 53" wing for the Eureka kit.  Neverthless, I believe it would be possible to redraw/reduce the plan if the original is not to be found within a reasonable amount of time.  I'm glad to hear that you had a good experience doing business with him because it encourages me to give him a try at some point.  Thank you.
