Regal Raider - plans?
« on: December 27, 2016, 12:00:34 PM »
Guys,
Anyone have pictures and plans for the Harters - Regal Raider rat racer? Going through my stuff I found an old partial kit (in a bottom of the open box) of the Regal Raider (with the pan) but there are no plans. Anyone have pictures and plans?

Best,    DennisT

Regal Raider was the B proto; Royal Rodent was the rat racer. The proto has a fully cowled engine and a clear canopy. The rat had a mostly exposed upright engine. That being said, I may have the plans to the Regal Raider at home. I'll check this evening. The plans are not full size, but then nothing is actually built on the plans.

AMA Plans Service has the Regal Raider listed under two different numbers, 10485 and 25139. Price for either is $4.00 + postage. One nice thing, Greg can plot the plans full size.

I had a Raider that I used as a rat.  The Raider, with 125 squares was a better rat than the Rodent (with 80 squares).   I had some Rodents. too.  The pan used to sell for $3.95.  Now, plans for $4.

I'm glad you got an answer, because I didn't find my plans. By the way Dale, Mr. Moreland says thank you, but Leland Morton says "hey, what about me?"

As a side note to this subject, you may be interested to know that Harter's Hobby Shop, where these were originally produced and sold from in Belleville, IL, is closing it's doors and the current owner retiring. The shop had been around for 70 years or so, and the current owner bought way back in the late 50's or early sixties, I think. I only had one opportunity to check out the place years ago, and it was all trains then and continued that way. Makes me wonder what might be in an attic or basement? There was a local TV news story about it that my older brother saw and told me about so I tried to find the video portion on line but no luck. Just FYI.
   HAPPY NEW YEAR!
