Very true.  Thanks for entering.  As Bob says, it was close. All three averaged within 0.5 MPH of each other over 100 miles.  We had seven entries on the books, but due to the rain delays, we limited it to the obvious best three.

For the sake of variety, I'm thinking of using Brodak Foxberg racers next year. With The Brodak Fly In coming to an end, this will be the last chance of people to "use up" these once-a-year models.  Maybe we'll have a goodly number of entries and some fun.

This is just an opening thought.

Average speed?  Without referring to my notes:

66.7 MPH for the winner.  66.3 MPH for last place.  90 minutes for the winner. 93 minutes last.  CLOSE.

Thanks!  It give me a goal and an idea of what I should be practicing to achieve.   :D

put us down for NO to the Fox Racers , the planes used in the 1400 are much smoother flyers and one wheel gear makes for smoother landings.  i dont think i can get my tank and shut off on my lightning Streak

Bob you are correct . This set up has evolved to be easy to pit and as safe as possible with multiple stops . No shut offs and 2 wheels promote serious safety problems during pits .

Perhaps taking the Fox-Brodak-Berg final to 500 laps (the Brodak 500) in it's final year would be a fitting final act for this class . Keep it on the grass . Leave the 100 miler as is ,we know this works .

Just my 2 cents ,
Brad

Paul, if u would drop the 24 in fuse length and go with 22 in ,there are a lot of slow rats around that all ready have shut offs and big tanks and would just need a refit of an OS LA25. .i don't think any of the flyers there this year would complain

then again as light as the LA is it would need to be moved forward and that would almost make up the diff, that's what i had to do, came out 24 on the nose. Rad

You are free to use 2 wheels . 20 pits can twist stuff around , the single wheel is much simpler to keep straight after a good thump . Again you can use 2 wheels .

I'm getting ready to send in my requests for the Brodak Fly In for 2016.

Do we have interest in the same 1400 Lap Race for next year?

The only change is (hopefully) better weather so we have time for two 3-up races.
