The virtues of building with magnets
« on: August 25, 2016, 11:05:25 AM »
If you have not tried building with magnets, I think you are missing out on a a great and easy way to build.  I have built barn door, tapered and double tapered wings on this board.  Box fuselages are also a dream to build on a magnetic building board.  I have posted some pictures of my latest build of Mike Pratt's Primary Force wing in THE BUILDING TECHNIQUES section.  This wing is a type of I beam construction and with the tabs on the bottoms of the ribs, the magnets firmly hold the ribs in place exactly at a 90 degree angle to the building surface so you can easily insert the leading edge and trailing edge piece in place.

Give it a try, I think you will like it.  Look ma, no pins.
