The Shark 35 Profile is on the paint stand
« on: March 17, 2017, 01:51:20 PM »
I have no graphics on the plane yet and have not painted on the canopy but will post more pictures when I do.  I will post pricing for the kit in my VENDORS CORNER SECTION, Griffins Model Service.  The wing is Ultracote and the fuselage is Rustoleum.

Hi Doc.  First I hope you are feeling better and doing good.  As far as the Rustoleum, I have been using it for years and like the results I always get with it.  I do not own any spray equipment and for the type of finish I desire, it works fine.  I heat the can up with my heat gun before I shoot the model with it and that makes it flow really well and gives the finish a better shine when it dries.  I use very little dope anymore and only in certain areas.  Allen Brickhaus taught me how to fill balsa without using dope and like him, I use Ultracote on my wings.  I had to practice a bit but I have gotten pretty good at applying it.

Thank you for the compliment Doc.

I have been using Rustoleum products for a while now and they are tough as nails when cured. I warm it up with a pan of hot water so I can do other things while it warms. I sprayed my latest plane with original formula Rustoleum and the overspray made a mess of the floor unlike the 2X Rustoleum but the slow drying let the paint flow out smooth. First flight today.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

What happened?

What happened was ME.  I went inverted and forgot down was up.  I crash them all eventually.

That is sad to hear a decent flying plane has crashed.   I have noticed the last time out I'm a little fuzzy on the control movements.   Think that is why I had to rebuild the booms on the canard which is flying better I think.  Better luck on your next plane. H^^
