A friend of mine was asking about stunt twins. What is available in the just over 5O inch size, how do they fly and where can you get the drawings from. I have no idea on twins, so can anyone make any suggestions.

Brian and Mike Massey are (fairly) local stunt pilots who are brothers, but they're not twins. They're also much taller than 50".

They fly in Advanced.

Eric Rule @ RSM offers LA Heat (2 35's) and LA Warmth (15 sized) .
Frank Carlisle flew a LA Heat at Brodaks....it looked great

Jack Sheeks's Mosquito is also kitted by RSM. A good design as well.

Bob Whitely designed the LA Heat and flew it to a top 5 finish at the Nationals some time in the early 2000's ( sorry can't remember exactly when) A very big airplane but an excellent flier.

The Pathfinder Twin is an outstanding flier. I flew Gordon Delaney's here in Tucson and wanted to steal it, but Gordy was watching too closely! I have one of the kits and two FP 15's and plan to duplicate Gordy's!

2 FP 15's for power.

I also have the RSM Kit for the Mosquito but haven't built it yet. The kit looks very good and should be a good Semi Scale flier. To all accounts Jack used two Fox 29's and flew it well! I plan to use two LA25's.

Too many great airplanes and so little time!

LA Heat is older...late 80s/early 90s. Dad has a calendar in his building room that has the original on it, and hes had it since I was a little guy.

That last comment is sure true!

Though your best bet would be to just stick two engines on an Oriental , or scrible over the plan .

These THINGS are ORIENTAL WINGS and thereabouts proportions , though the W.W. chords an inch less .

The 262 @ 70 Oz. on 70 ft. of .018 laystrate with two FP25s hauls the coal nicely AND will stick
to the track for F2B , the mosquitros akrobatic And Whirlwind tracks true aerobatically .
Theyre about 60 Oz. The originals back 73/74 were 35 & 38 Oz. with two OS Max 20s.

60 ft lines, in the calm on 70 Ft of .012 the 262 would do loops and repeat wingovers on the OUTER only , engine .

you can see its a flying Wing Fence . !

theres Veco 19s in the Mosquito . Rowdiest on 20 % N & Rossi R5 Plugs .
TwO fox 19s or 25s or Mix in the W. W. . the 262s flown with ST 20/23s ,
OS Max 20s & 25s , ST G15FIs , MVVS D7s , and others . Thoughs HOME to Two
Magnum 25 GP ( OS FP clones ) Now . looks like theyll stay. At That Weight .

Is the LA twin a profile, Took a look at it on Eric's site, It looked a profile, but it had the thickest fuselage I have seen for a profile!

They are the twins to consider.

Bob Hunt will make his twin drawings available soon. It has been going through a long development and Bob shares his information freely. It is worth waiting for.

Gordon's Pathfinder is what turned Bob Hunt on to developing his electric twin

Don Hutchinson recently offered B-25 profile plans. Don's models are very close to scale outlines and fly great! Don is a member here so contact him, I believe the plans are $10. He also as a great P-38 profile.

Steve Moon offers plans for a B-25 through UHP. This model uses Core House wing cores for wings.

I have done Gordon's Twin Pathfinder in both glow and electric power recently for Dave Sabon in San Diego. Here's some pictures of Dave's Twin Pathfinder. He reports that the twin electric is simply awesome. In fact he is so happy with the way it flies that he wants me to make it a bit bigger, turn it into a full bodied stunter with two of my 35-40 power systems on it and include trike gear retracts. As we speak the AutoCAD work is being done. The new "Twin Pathfinder LE" should be ready to go to laser cut in a couple of months.

Hi Bill:

I have had the greatest respect for Hutch every since he was president of the Knights of the Round Circle out here on the left coast. Not only does he design great models he is also one of the nicest people I have every had the opportunity to know. I would consider it a real honor if he allowed me to kit one or more of his models. The greatest problem would be the cost of money and time in converting his hand drawn plans into AutoCAD so that the laser could cut the parts.

Lew McFarland did a P-38 semi scale with Veco .19s. It's about 50-52 inches. I got the plans and hope to find time to build one.

I've got a Grumman Widgeon on the drawing board. I'm thinking a couple of 19's or just a tad larger.

I'm looking for two matched NIB engines. Originally thinking scale or semi scale, but I think stunt is the direction I'll take with the design.

Could go electric with it?

Might start this project next winter.

The LA Heat and the LA Warmth are both built-up fuselages. The Heat is a big airplane. I designed the Warmth to provide a smaller version of a beautiful airplane.

Windy built three twinkies in three years....the B-25, A-26 and Tigercat. The B-25 was the best flier, I think.Big airplanes all....

Here's a great flying twin.
1949 design - OTS legal but I've been told by observers the it would do well in AMA stunt.
Very easy to build and fly.
Just over 50 inch span, powered by two 1955 Fox 19s.

I have the first RSM LA Warmth that was built by my late friend Frank Carlisle.It flew very well with a pair of LA,15's.I had the opportunity to fly Bob Hunt's testbed twin and the warmth is being converted to E.2 engines=tooooo messy.
