finally the last piece of wood was glued! the 2 part cowl is finished and the fuselage is ready for carbon veil
the most time consuming part so far was the cowl and the mating flanges

finally finishing
this is the first time i use Carbon Veil, much easier to apply than sylkspan, letīs see how much primer will be needed to a nice finish
plane complete with landing gear and cowls, wings and tail with oracover applied, horns and push rods installed and fuselage with carbon veil and doped weight 30,5 oz. not sure if this weight is bad, good or marginal
model primed, next step is sanding, minor putty correction and a final primer coat

Eddy's Starduster is a great flier!  Too bad you're going to weigh it down with all those electrons!   LL~ LL~ LL~

I have one of the Big Starduster's built by Eddy many years ago.  ST60!  Flew it a few times and was very impressed!  It's a work of art with the real Starduster theme paint job.  It's hanging on the wall where it will remain as a memento of my friendship with Mr. Capitinelli (E-Capp).

after 10 months, sheīs ready! full flight package including batteries weights 1730 grams
next week will be flight tested and delivered to a a happy owner. Honestly itīs the best looking c/l model i ever built to this day. the lines are elegant and the decoration turned out nice. Ed Capp gave me several valuable input along the building and to homage him i used his original striking decoration as a base for this new bird.

Finally the flight video

a nervous me at the handle, final trimming prior to delivery for the owner.
besides being a bit nervous due to the responsibility and my flight skills being still on development,  i can tell that she flyes gracefully and very responsive, almost self-aligning from maneuvers.
And a happy me saying goodbye to the plane
now, letīs go back to the bench!
thanks for following the build and for the shared information

Hi Fred,

It seems to fly well.  Can you please tell me what length lines you are flying on.  Center of airplane to center of handle length would be best!   The lap times appear to be pretty fast!  something just over 4 seconds.  Makes the pattern tough to fly.

hello Randy, thanks a lot.
indeed was very fast, we slowed down the RPM
lines are 18 meters (59,06 Ft).
the plane now is in another city with the owner (this was a comissioned job)
i advised him to use 18,50 meters and to decrease RPM.
he says now the laps are really slow and the plane is performing perfectly well (wish i had made the flight that slow). I just checked CG and general trimming before delivery.
in the near future i plan to build one for my own, sheīs too sexy to resist!
