Power Master fuel - Ro Jett blend discontinued
« on: February 20, 2017, 06:05:30 PM »
Just FYI the Ro-Jett blend on the website is discontinued.

So are folks running the 10/18 green fuel all synthetic in there Ro Jett's?

Actually Ro-Jett blend has been gone since last summer. Ro-Jetts run fine on all synthetic or on PM R/C fuel w/ 18% lube. My preference is to take the R/C blend and add 2 ounces of castor plus 2 ounces of synthetic lube. That gives a mixture very close to the Ro-Jett blend which is 17% synthetic, 5% castor. Not my idea, a local but well known flier came up with that formula and it was posted on the other site. It works well.  8)

Thanks
I found the thread I think on SSW.
Looks like Klotz and Blendzall 2oz of each per gallon gets a good blend.
I did a google search and found a bottle of blendzall ultra racing castor oil and klotz Benol racing castor.
Is that what's needed to doctor the 10/18 PM fuel?

Thanks in advance.  H^^

I use Klotz synthetic and AA Castor, both from Sig because that is what is available at my LHS. I have some of the Blendzall ultra castor but haven't tried it yet. I'm sure it will work as well or better than the Sig castor I have been using.   8)

Hi Paul.....
It's not worth screwing around and trying to blend your own fuel....
Powermaster still has GMA blends in 5%, 10% and 15% nitro.....works great.....

Have fun!

Here is a copy from SSW:

Also, Tried Blendzall Racing Castor Lube today.

PowerMaster 10-18 Air, with 2 oz Klotz, 2 oz. Blendzall. Ran smooth, same power as Ro-Jett 10%, and good cooling, steady run on the ground, and sounds very macho.

The Blendzall is much thinner and lower viscosity than straight castor. So far no deposits or plug taters.

Not worth mixing your own fuel?  I suppose it depends on cost.  In my area, only one hobby shop has Powermaster fuel and it is, at a minimum, $18 a gallon.  Other brands are over $20 and I usually need to add oil to them.  So, add in a bit more to the price.  And, it is a 50 mile round trip to get there.  A shop very close to me has fuel (never Powermaster) but it is over $20 a gallon and I need to add oil to it as well.  So, why mess with it?  And, haz mat fees make it cost prohibitive to have fuel shipped to me.

I can get Klotz and castor from Sig.  If Sig keeps the prices reasonable then it is worth shipping it to me, even with the shipping cost.   I get methanol and nitro from local auto performance/speed shops and mix 5/22 for about $13 a gallon.

Or, alternately, it causes load-ups or quits in hard inside corners. Some engines can tolerate or require that much castor oil, but others cannot. That's why most people I know still using GMA in conventional stunt engines cut it 50/50 with something like SIG Syn-Power to lower the overall castor content.

David's modification to the RC Sport fuel partially replicates the effects of RO-Jett fuel, that is, reduced boost/break and less underrun compared to the conventional fuel (now labeled "10% Air", etc.) that everyone uses, or YS20/20. It's not exactly right, but by varying the amount of Klotz, you can adjust the effect. For him, adding the same volume of Klotz and leaving out the castor was too much of the same effect, but I haven't tried it myself yet.
