Hi Paul....
Reach out to Windy.....he makes water-slide decals and sprays a TON of clear over them.....

Tom Morris makes decals as well.....if you only need a couple, Tom would be my choice....

Have fun!

Actually making your own is quite simple.  There are two types of decal paper.  One for laser printers.  The other for ink jets.  Only real difference between the two is the ink jets require some clear be put over the decal before you put it in water.  The laser you don't have to worry about that.

If you have an image you want to use on the computer, it really is as easy as printing it out on paper to make your own decal.

What exactly are your trying to make a decal of?

One thing I also though of, a few years ago I wrote an article on how to make your own decals for PAMPA.  I still have it on my computer.  I can send it to you if you wish.

Be careful with the decals made by inkjet - they fade very rapidly when exposed to the sun.  I can't speak for laser printed because I haven't tried them.

Depends on which printer/ink you use. Some are "archival" in a photographic sense, others do fade quickly. My Epson photo inkjet printer has shown no fade over many years, while my old Canon fades in a few months.

Note that this is not unique to inkjet printers. Both David Fitzgerald and Dave Trible have found that SIG Plyspan blue fades to white in a few years. I don't know about the other colors.

I tried decal paper from several sources.  Bel Decal is head and shoulders the best.
Consider whether there is white in your graphics.  No such thing as white in in our printers
Buy white paper or clear paper as needed

Thank you Alan Rensinger and Phil Granderson for the bel decal tip a few yrs ago.

Not all color laser printers work with the decal paper.  Robby Hunt's, for example, doesn't.  You can take a file to Office Depot or equivalent, where they will print it for a dime or so on their high-end color laser printer, but it can be difficult to find anybody who will set the printer settings for best results.

I've ruined quite a few sheets of inkjet decal paper trying to get it to feed through the printer.  Although my Canon printer looks like the paper doesn't bend, it gets stuck, or binds going through the machinery.  And my HP printer is even worse!

I guess I'll stay away from decals.
