NATS Winning Plane/Engine Choices

What were the top two NATS finishers' plane design/engine combinations?  Old Time, Classic, Advanced, Open?

     I only know Open for sure. Orestes used a Discovery Retro 60 in a Mace R2 Shark kit from Yuri Yatsenko. I used a RO-Jett 61 BSE (original timing version) in an Infinity built from scratch.

I'm told the Pat Gibson plane is the much updated, foam wing Ringmaster done by Pat Johnston.

as a note of information, the Rinmaster is called the RM+P, it was designed by Pat. It uses a solid foam core wing with a small spar cap imbeded in the surface top and bottom. very simple but apparantly very effective. I have one on the board right now for my stepdaughter, she is building it herself. Reports say it comes in in the very low 20 oz range, I heard of one that was 21 or 22 oz! It has a modern airfoil. In short, it only looks like a ringmaster.
Should note that this project was a collaboration with Dee Rice.
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!

    One thing I know about it is that a ST34 with a 10-6 makes it go very very fast!

The only Tigre similar to that one, mounted on anything similar in size that I have been on the field with was running with 11-4 props, and still seemed fast, although I didn't clock it at the time.

Worthy of note, I believe, are the power choices of two Philly Flyers that finished in the top 10 of Open, in fact they took 7th and 8th. Dan Banjok flying his original Vista powered by a Saito 72 was 7th. Mike Palko ran one half point behind flying a Nu powered electric Mustang. Mike's plane is a Bob Hunt design originally configured for IC power. Mike made the conversion. He also garnered 19 appearance points. Not bad. Won rookie of the year. Congratulations to Mike and Dan!
