No news yet. Was it blown away? The winds in Dallas were terrible.

As I recall, and it's been a long time ago, it was great flying weather until I signalled for my first official, whereupon a zephyr, of cyclonic proportion, coursed the very same circle I was flying on, and I lost my head.

Although the Certificate of Achievement Awards made mention of fire ants, winds, mosquitos, and the occassional RC glider, I saw none of these, except the cyclonic zephyr.

Frank, Carl, Carl, Ryan, and Darrel worked hard to allow us to have a great time, and we did!

All you have to do is look at the sky in those pictures to tell what a great weekend it was in Houston. Little wind until late in the day (in spite of Dale's lament!), temperatures that stayed reasonable (for Houston in the summer), a GREAT site, and well organized.

Regards,

Bill

I hope I can make it next year. A great facility down there in Houston,
and a great group of people.

Bad guess, Bill. All of the photographers who might take a picture of the racing action were busy participating.

Hey Ole Dad, it was windy in Topeka both days.   Hot on Saturday and a little cooler on Sunday.   I did not take any pics this year.  Oh, thanks for the great pictures.

I think Ol'Dad and Don Cranfill were the only pilots on hand, so they did all the flying, both pretty sore the next day.
Legs, lungs, limbs, pert' near, if not plum, wore out.

Bill Lee's ships won everything....his Texas Quickie was really quick, I've never had a simultaneous start, both planes in the air at the "Go!" call, and I was a lap behind after my first lap!  The Brodak Superfly with a Brodak 25 held in there pretty well, as did R.Oliver's entry, but Bill's Fox Racer- converted- to- SuperSlow with the Brodak 25 prevailed.

The Houston circles are the best in Texas, maybe the best anywhere, as are the people down there.

I only fly Stunt, so didnt even think about taking pictures on Saturday race day.
I realize now that the racing events probably offer a lot of good action shots.
So maybe I will give it a go next time (Dallas).
Keep in mind when it comes to cameras, I'm still a beginner.
Kinda like a point and shooter.
