Magnetic Building Board
« on: February 20, 2017, 02:35:03 PM »
Is anyone, other than myself, building with magnets?  If you are interested in how to do it and what you need, you can check out Airfield Models website and he sells a complete system.  I made my own.  If you use ribs with tabs on the bottom, using magnets is a great way to build a wing.

Easy Built Models also has a popular magnet building system although they are specifically geared toward the stick and tissue modeler.   8)

Mine is VERY old. I believe the story is that it belonged to the brother of captain Kangaroo! Could be my crazy memory there, but I'm trying to research that.

So, the brother of captain Kangaroo built model planes? That's interesting because my dad built model planes and I ended up on the captain Kangaroo TV show. Maybe there's a connection? Did Mr. Green Jeans fly free flight?

MM

I wasn't around, but that's the story I'm getting. At this point I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of free flight models in Mr Green Jeans basement......
