Looking for a small engine?
« on: March 25, 2016, 10:50:58 AM »
My friend is getting out of RC and he wanted me to list this on eBay for him.

It's new and can easily be set up for CL.

Looks like it would make a good endurance engine with diesel conversion. Got my bid in.

MM - I think this engine would do fine as a Diesel since it appears to be quite rugged.

As I recall, many of the old Super Tiger Diesels were indeed based on glow engines with contra-piston heads installed.

Maybe I'll buy it!

When I was starting to learn F2C comp, we converted quite a few Super Tigres to diesel.

Well, I should have checked sooner. 23 minutes too late and it sold for $17.51!

This little engine used to go for pretty big dollars because they were used for a racing class down under.  I fully expected it to go for at least $50, because one of the older ones with the blue head went for $47 the same day.  Imagine my surprise when my $25 bid got it.  Sorry, but it will most likely go into a very small RC speed plane called a Yellow Jacket and go like stink.

The original poster Bob Z. goofed big time and owes his friend about $25 extra.  I have a search set up on eBay for the CORRECT spelling Super Tigre (r BEFORE e) and I would have seen this NIB ST-X11 and bid on it if Bob Z. had spelled it right.

Sheesh

Well, glad to hear someone is going to use it. I would have bid you up to about $40 but, I was working on a stunt ship when the auction went off so, I guess I know my priorities lol.

Spelling can kill you or it can get you treasures if you know how to search and what the common issues are. A good example is another hobby I'm involved with, collecting and shooting old rifles. A guy scored a rare Mossberg rifle for next to nothing because it was listed as a Mooseberg! Other, more common misspellings are Mossburg, Mosburg, Mosberg.

Bill
