Just to whet your appetite
« on: February 24, 2012, 09:44:03 AM »
Just wanted to give you a sneak peek of the future kits i have lined up for this coming year at this time.  I will be posting specs/details in Vendors Corner and on my Wings On Strings website very soon.

The top two are pictures of Allan Brickhaus's Scepter

The bottom picture is a Spinks Akromaster.

All wings are built up wings...not foam.

Jim should take a close look at the alignment of the stab.

Nice Mike!

Wondering if you know what % of wing area the Stab/elevator area is on the Scepter

Thanks

Mike,

You're doing good things! Kudos!!

Hey! I see you offer Wing Kits, correct? Or at least Rib Sets, correct?

Might be a good idea to list the measurements of the completed wing? I don't know the models.  n~

Having measurements would help those that may need a wing for their own design. With changes.

Span, root cord, tip cord, airfoil thickness and LE setback is all you need.

I'll need a wing soon for a project. I hate building wings.

Thanks,

Charles

Allen is in the process of sending me all the data and specs on it...will get it posted as soon as I get them.  Good looking plane and Allen says the numbers on it are good.

Hi Charles

On my website - www.wingsonstrings.com - I have Specification page for every model I list on the website that gives you the span, area and length of the model as well as the power ranges.  I do not list the root chord, tip chord and airfoil thicknesses because there are so many kits available.  It is mostly a time consumption problem.  Perhaps if you could tell me what you want then maybe I could get the information for you....

Thanks

Mike

The Scepter is kinda close to The Brodak Legacy,(which is a modified Genesis).

Here is another one of Allen Brickhaus's designs I will be adding to future kits.  THE PIRATA.

Notice the dotted line on the rudder in the plans picture .. the rudder will be reduced in size to that dotted line.

The Scepter is kinda close to The Brodak Legacy,(which is a modified Genesis).

The Legacy is definitely not a modified Genesis, rather, it's based on the larger Buccaneer, and incorporating changes in airfoil, percentages, and moments.

Gonna ask Allen on that one.

I agree with Randy -

Check the Stab alignment - its WAY OUT.

My eyeball estimate is : Its over 2 " out...
