I've seen some pretty obscure questions answered so here goes. When I was a kid in the 70's I used to go to the library to read the latest MAN , one plane has always stuck in my head was a stunt/combat trainer (no flaps) in the pic the author used ping pong balls as tip weight, I know it's a long shot, but anyone know the plane I'm talking about? I'd like to build it.

  What is the date on the magazine? I want to look that one up, I don't recall it at all! Looks interesting and Lou Woolard is one of my heroes! Hope I'm still that active if I live to be 92! Wasn't Mike Tallman that Lous used to do a tandem stunt routine with, and Mike was more or less legally blind?? I think I'm remembering it correctly.

Did not ever know Mike being blind.  Yes, him and Lou did tandem stunt.  In fact they got to perform at a St Louis ball game.   But, I believe it was the built up Fokker they used in their routine.  One set of lines was shorter than the other and I think Lou did the talking.  They were a great pair.

  This is an interesting looking, and simple airplane. Interesting airfoil. Definitely would make a simple, quick to build sport/stunt airplane with a Fox.35 or one of the new .25s. I really like how they laid out the parts to fit standard balsa sheets and such for maximum economy. I really wanted to see what the story was on the ping pong balls, but in skimming the text of the article, I didn't see it. Anyone have the back story on that? Was it really just the 1/2 ounce the plans called out for tip weight?

Hey Dan,  You know Lou, call him and talk to him .   I think his ad is in Stunt News.  Maybe I will go look.  I would call him but am having trouble understanding on the phone.
