Huntersville contest  is October 14,15,16 2016.  

Friday is practice , judges clinic and Combat.

Saturday is  10 am start for OTS , profile, N-30, basic flight , Carrier , Combat . Then anniversary Banquet at 7 pm

Sunday  start at 9 am start  for PAMPA  glasses , beginner, int, adv, expert .  Special awards, prizes and gifts for our 35th anniversary celebration.

If you plan to attend , early registration is suggested, but not required to help speed up the registration process for all events .. Trophies and awards will be presented during a dinner awards ceremony at a local BBQ restaurant.
We will meet at the restaurant at 7:00  

Entry Fee:  $10.00 per event, $30.00 max. Juniors & Seniors $5.00 per event, $15.00 Max.

Thursday & Friday: October 13th & 14th;
Note:  all C/L circles will be open for practice Thursday. Friday. RC Side open to all C/L flying.
You will need a gate key or MCLS member with a key present to get on site.

Friday - COMBAT 1/2A combat at 3:00 to 4:00 on Friday. Double Elimination.

Saturday October 15th;
STUNT - Pilot’s meeting at 9:30 AM. Start at 10:00
Old Time, Profile & Nostalgia 30. Basic Flight (to be flown at 12:00 noon).

COMBAT - Pilot’s meeting at 8:30 AM. Start at 9:00
Speed Limit (75mph). Any plane, Engine. Fuel system or Fuel. Starters OK. Mid-air does not end match.
      Double Elimination with a separate "Second Chance" round for pilots losing first two matches (may change depending on the                  number of pilots falling out early).
      Airplanes, Motor, Glow Starter & Trophies to be awarded

CARRIER
NOTE:  We plan to be ready to fly carrier well before the stunt pilots meeting – hopefully by 9:00 AM.  
We will also register carrier models Friday afternoon if you are in the area.
Events: Fifteen (G/E), Profile (G/E), I / II (G/E) and Nostalgia (G/E). All Glow and Elec. classes will all be combined.  
All scores will be normalized as a percentage of the high score on the NCS 2015 Top 20 so no class or propulsion method should have an advantage.  
Contestants may enter as many classes as they want for NCS Top 20 consideration etc.  

Sunday - October 16th;
STUNT
Pilot’s meeting at 8:30 AM Start at 9:00
PAMPA: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert.

COMBAT
(TBD only if unable to finish on Saturday and people still feel like flying).

CARRIER
(TBD only if unable to finish on Saturday and people still feel like flying).

PARKING - PLEASE BE AWARE – PARKING
There are several handicap parking spots located in the flying area next to the pavilion.  If you have a handicap tag and get there first you may use these spots.  Otherwise there will be:

ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING AT THE PAVILION

except to unload or load models and handicapped designated vehicles.  There are 3/4 designated handicapped space available. First come basis.
This is a county landfill rule and we are under threat of losing access to the pavilion or the flying site if we don’t enforce it.  Therefore, we will enforce it without exception.  Please help us by unloading and loading quickly and moving your vehicle down to the parking lot immediately so the county does not have an opportunity to get confused about what you are doing.

How far is it from the handiman parking to the regular parking?

The handicap parking is at the shelter, the shelter is less than 300 feet from the regular parking.  The regular parking lot is closer to carrier and combat than it is to the stunt circles.  None all that far away ,

With as many as 6 circles going on at one  time , it gets pretty busy .

The issue is the Huntersville flying site is located on a landfill . about 10 years ago we had a landfill cell  collapse , shutting down the field for months to repair  ($$$$ to repair )  the county is trying to limit  the exposure of the landfill cells to  any unnecessary weight .

Entry level flight for those that cannot fly the Beginner pattern or the full pattern. Mostly for kids.Take off, level flight, climb and dive, shallow wingover, high and level, 1 inside loop, 1 optional maneuver for bonus score then landing. 6 min time limit. Samuel flies this event.

But in any case, I can give you a half gallon. I'm opening a new one on Tuesday and will be bringing it with me to Huntersville, so you'll have plenty to fly stunt with. I don't know about Combat.

I'll bring some Special fuel, just for you.

Weekend forecast says 55-72 ,wind 5mph. Sounds like the best Huntersville contest weather in a long time. It has been in the high 40's in the morning at my house for a few days 25 miles from the field.

Thanks Will. Sam will have a pretty nasty scar on his forehead but he is in good spirits. Just a little sore. He handled it way better than his mother and I did. He will still make the trip with me.

This probably won't apply to you, but if anyone is coming via I-95, you may want to check ahead, there are flooded areas in NC, including the town of Lumberton. I'd take precautions approaching on any roads from East of the Charlotte area.

All roads around charlotte are fine , it is the  eastern and coastal  North Carolina that got hit hard by the hurricane ,  we are 150 miles west of there . All of I 85 and I 77 are clear

Lol thanks Will! That is right in front of my parents camp. I was trying to find a close to home place to fly and thought why not try it.

FRIDAY    Very large crowd. Three circles going all day. This is the largest Friday group I have ever seen,14 years. Perfect weather. Spent most of the afternoon with Danny with his showing us how to build aluminum cowls.

Sam received a combat plane from Dave Wenzel, a Gotcha Streak kit from Howard Shenton, a Fox .36 from Tom Weedman and a Nobler ARF from the Club. We are blessed by the friends we have in this hobby. Sam was thrilled.
