FYI for Gilbert .11 fans

In case you ever need to know.
I got a wild hair yesterday to put mine on the bench again just for funzies.
Fiddlin' around and I lost the copper head gasket - long story short, the Grass Gremlins apparently ate it.
The gaskets seem to be impossible to find online so I dressed the head's mating surface on fine sandpaper and it seems to seal and run fine - 14.7 K/6.5x5.5 MA/15% nitro.
Runs with other prop sizes show it to be, as is often stated, in the same power class as most .09s of it's day.

I haven't had mine in the air, John, so no report from the trenches. MOF, I don't recall a report from anyone who has.
Wanna be the first?  
I suspect it would fly a JLS, but others have suggested something in the 180-200 sq. in. range might be a better candidate.
As a further note, I ran it with an 8x4 MA with 2 different heads (see combustion chamber pic below).
The shallower head seemed to run ~200 rpm faster than the deep head, 10.2K v 10K. YRpmMV.
A forum search for Gilbert .11 should return several threads about 'em.

I think I have four new .11's and four new .07's that I've never run.  Maybe I'll get them out and play with them a bit.  I have some of the headers for the .11's but I don't think I do for the .07's.

You'll find them, Herman, easy starting (in either direction!), friendly engines.
FWIW, I'll repeat here that the .11s were designed by Bob Holland (of Hornet fame) and built by Hy Johnson's Dynamic Models for Gilbert, who later took over manufacture of both sizes (.07 built by Gilbert only). They were in production for only 3-4 years IIRC.
Though glow heads from the Fox Rocket .09, Fox .10 and Hustler .10 will fit the Gilbert .11, Fox had no significant involvement in the Gilberts, despite the external resemblance of his .09.
