Being from Oregon, I don't recognize the two gentlemen holding their planes.  Can you help me out?

Weather forecast for the Baton Rouge area this weekend is for 6 mph winds today and 4 mph tomorrow with sunny skies and temps in the mid to upper 80's.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

Too bad you are so far from Oregon.  You guys are having a great meet - and it looks like several of the profile people are ready to move up a class.

Fantastic flying site...Fantastic club (Bi-Liners)...Fantastic food. I really enjoyed this contest. Saw a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while and saw some "dynamite" flying skills. The weather was the best that I've had the opportunity to "contest fly" in; in a long time...So! No excuses for the scores...couldn't blame it on the weather, just the pilot. The gang from the "Red Stick" know how to do it.

I think someone told me the design is by Kieth Williams from 1980... but Im not 100% on that.  Ty would know once he gets back on here.

 Rootbeard,
Thanks for posting all the pictures, and thanks for coming to the contest, we are always glad when friends come in from out of town, I am already looking forward to next year's "bash".

It was good to see the "Memphis Mafia", as well as all the other contestants...

Thanks Rootbeard for the compliment! However, the credit for the great condition of the flying site goes to Brent Rogillio, John Blanchard, and Gill Causey who do the mowing. Perry Rose  and Nick Iaullssa also help compliment their work. All these guys stay very busy during the contest setting up, judging, flying, and other duties that come up. In fact, Perry Rose judged Classic w/ Gill Causey and then went to the War Bird circle and put in his 2 rounds back to back- it does not show on the scoreboard, but he finished 3RD (465 pts.)flying a very well done DH Chipmonk (Don Hutchinson design)/LA46. Ty Marcucci brought a well done P-51B War Bird stunter depicting the type Don Gentile flew during WWII. There was a Pilot's Choice award for best War Bird which ended in a 3-way tie- Ty's Mustang, Bowman's Helldiver, and Troutman's Bearcat. A lengthy coin tossing session resulted in Bowman's Helldiver the winner.
Jim Lynch took both the other Pilot's Choice awards for Spirit of 64 (HUMBLER), and Concours (GEO XL).
Some of the scoreboard pic's were taken before the girls marked pilot final placings, but Classic was JIM LYNCH (1), JIM LEE (2), TOM DIXON (3), DON CRANFILL (4), PAUL TAYLOR (5), JIM SVITKO (6), DAN BERRY (7), MARK TROUTMAN (8), BILL BROWN (9), MIKE MAKEPEACE (10).
We thank all the ladies that really keep things moving during the contest. Could not do it without them. So thanks to Cathy Causey, Maggie Blanchard, Irene Rose, Shelia Cranfill, Edie Oliver, Marilee McMillan(great Apricot pastry), Janis Stokey, Jackie Rogillio, Stella Hill, Kathleen Patterson, and Nan Beavers. All of these ladies kept us in high energy snacks.
Speaking of food, John Blanchard and wife Maggie provided and helped prepare the Jambalaya and white beans, which his cousin and his wife cooked. It was delicious.
We also thank Ray Dore' and his wife for coming. They come every year and Ray always makes at least 3 very nice custom control handles which he donates to the raffle. They are one of the nicest couples you could ever meet.
Special thanks to our judges Frank McMillan, John Hill, Richard Oliver, Andy Stokey, Jim Lynch, Allan Perret, Gil Causey, Perry Rose, and Nick Iallusa(have no idea how to spell his name!).
          Doug
