At the urging of another warbird fan, I have just completed the drawings for warbird #23, the North American T-28. It looks real good, even earned him a credit on the nameplate, and with the tricycle gear should steal a few extra take-off and landing points! This may be the last one, at 84 hunching over the drafting table is hard on the back and my lettering I getting atrocious! If you have never seen one of these, scan down to the contest report from the Tulsa contest last week to see photos of the SBD Dauntless and the SB2C Helldiver. Both real good flyers. The usual $10 will get you all the files for this one.

I just bought wood for the Dauntless this week. I'm really looking forward to building it this winter. I've seen three great flying warbirds, and have flown the T-6. I think everybody should have one of these profiles. They look and fly awesome!

I was hoping for a P-26. It was flown in WWII (by Philippine AF), after all! My Pa flew them in the late '30's, and liked them a lot.

Matt's enthusiasm for building the Dauntless made me pull out the plans to the Avenger I have. But I will have to figure out how to build the three piece wing at some point!

You know I have to have a set. I will put the check in the mail when I get back home. Just brought my Dad home after 2 months in the hospital. He is as good as new and we should be at the Baton Rouge contest in 2 weeks. I will bring my Hellcat kit from Lazer Works so you can have a look.

BTW, I would like to see a P-26 also. I love those between war aircraft.

I can tell you first hand, Don's profiles take care of business. My personal favorite is his AT-6. Maybe one of the best flying stunt profiles I have ever seen,(and I have seen a lot lol).

Help! What am I doing wrong? Thus far I have moved three sets of the T-28 warbird profile drawings. A whole lot of behind the scene engineering effort goes into one of these plan sets so this kind of results really takes the incentive to do another warbird away.

Yes, I do have the Skyraider in the series. There are now 23 warbirds in the series, all Army or Navy except for one Spitfire. Some drawings show up to 6 versions of the subject airplane.

Like others, I'm not sure what Warbird's Don has done. There oughta be a list.

I looked in the Vendor's Section for "Don's Warbirds" but didn't find anything. That should be a lot simpler than continually answering questions about what has/hasn't already been done! I think Sparky, Bill Little or Randy Smith should be able to make that happen very painlessly.

The only one you left out was the B-25. All great plans and all will no no doubt fly well. I'm still trying to decide which one to build first! Either the Chipmunk or the Hellcat.

It appears that my whining about lack of interest in the T-28 plans in reply #10 stirred things up. A good number of T-28 and other plans have been ordered since then thereby restoring my faith in ya'all. It also means that there may well be a 24th warbird. I just don't have a good subject. I was somewhat reluctant to do the Helldiver but it turned out to be a great flyer so I am a bit more willing to consider about any airplane of reasonable configuration. Won't be til after the new year as the board is put away for the holiday season. Meanwhile I will brush up on marketing strategy and hope for even better results in 2017!

I have most of Don's plans and they are great. I've built the T-34C and its a great plane, easy to build. Next will be the BT-13 and then the T-28. Have part cut for the Corsair. Don made me a bellcrank for it, the rest should be easy enough. Thanks again Don.

Hawker Hurricane would be awesome! There are very few good plans for them and even fewer in a profile version. The ones I have seen, the nose has been terribly stretched, canopy all wrong, etc. Please?

Thank you all for the response. Since there seems to be a number of different airplanes wanted I will start a log of your wishes and by Jan 1, I should have enough to make a decision of "Who's on first?"
TY- I have a nice 3 view of the Douglas XTBD-1! Has a canopy that looks like a T-6, before the bulge for better pilot visibility was added. Came from Jan, 1938 Air Trails. Also have a superb three view from book U. S. Navy Carrier Bombers of WWII so documentation is no problem. Could draw both canopies so one could do either airplane, then wait for the first guy to say that isn't right!!.

I've been thinking for a few days about this "survey" and it finally just hit me. The Bell P-39/P-63 Airacobra/King Cobra would be an excellent subject. From Military to Civilian racers etc. there's a very long list of finishing options too.

I have already started keeping a log of who wants what and how many hits that airplane draws. There area number of things I look at before committing pencil to paper. i.e. enough meat around the nose to hold the engine well (P-39), long landing gear that can tear up the wing on rough fields (Zero), configuration of wing and tail, the moments, and will anybody want that airplane, etc. I am probably the last pencil pusher in the stunt game so you get a unique product but it also has to be a model that I like and I hope people want! I expect interest will fall off after the T-28 thread migrates to page 2.

Hi Don;
I would also like to see the P-39/63. Lots of different military lend/lease paint schemes, and colorful post war Cleveland racers of both versions. in stunt dimensions I think it would be easy to blend things for the minor outline changes from the P-39 to the P-63. The FW-190 interests me also, as does the PT-19. I thought the Hanger-9 PT-19 would satisfy my hunger for a stunt version of that airplane, but it missed the mark. You already mentioned the Zero, and that interests me also. It is practically a stunter with scale outlines.

If you draw up another one, I'm in what ever it is. And you are SO right about the uniqueness of hand drawn plans, and that is why I treasure your drawings. That is YOU down there on that paper!

FWIW Don, I don't think it would be a problem at all. There have been many good profile designs that have a lot less meat on the nose than the 39/63 would have. If it still makes you nervous you could use "normal" plywood doublers on the nose instead of your usual all balsa construction. Just my three cents...
