Broken Arrow Scale and Stunt Contest/ Milestones
« on: September 16, 2016, 11:25:51 PM »
Here's wishing everyone good luck for good weather and a good time for the Broken Arrow contest tomorrow and Sunday at Buder Park. I will miss this years event to marry off my only daughter, Mary Katherine McEntee to Joel Fox. I haven't missed one since I started flying competitive stunt back in 1986 or 87. Most of you know my son Sean through the list here and the contest trail, but I am also quite proud of my daughter ( I call her Katie, and Mary Katherine when she was in trouble!) at what she has accomplished in her life, primarily putting herself through college. I guess this is just another one of life's milestones we reach if we live long enough and work hard enough, seeing our children go off and start lives of their own and being self sufficient. To borrow a line from the song "Pretty Maids All In A Row, "And why must they grow up so fast?"
   Type at you later,

Even though I don't know your daughter,  wish them a long and happy life from the old DOC.   My self, I was at a Denver contest when my oldest daughter got married for the second time.  She is now on her third marriage.  By the way my son JJ got married while I was at VSC many years ago.  Didn't even know there was going to be a wedding.  He got him a good one.

Nice video Bob! It was pretty windy at the park where we were setting up for the reception before the wedding this morning. Had a heck of a time getting things to stay in place! Lots of string and tape, It calmed down as the afternoon went on, and i had been scoping out a section of the grounds near the pavilion where I thought I could put up a couple of flights. My house is less than a half mile from the facility, so I went home and grabbed my old reliable P-Force and support stuff and put on an impromptu air show. My new son in law had never seen me fly as of yet, and several of my niece's and nephew's  had never seen me fly before, and my youngest sister Joan had not seen me fly a model since we were kids! So it was time well spent. Got two flights in right at dusk. Got the DJ to put on "Danger Zone" from Top Gun while I was flying and everyone seemed to like it. And I did it in a suit and tie!
Hope to have some time to pop in toward the end of the day tomorrow. Just got finished putting stuff away after cleaning up the grounds, and still have some duties tomorrow. We'll see.
   I'M POOPED!

Good video and looks like every one is relaxed.   Was planning on being there this year, but too many things happening.  The old Suburban goes in the shop this week.   Thanks for the video.
