I am curious as to whether or not anyone has tried to use this to accelerate their CA?  It's not cheap, but neither is CA Accelerator.  Plus, this has a brush-on applicator, not spray.

Never tried that, but I use Ammonia gas (Ace Hardware). It can be used soaking a piece of paper towel and fanning it over the glued piece, or from a bottle (half full or less) blowing the gas thru a silicone tubing. It freezes instantly, it's cheap and lasts forever.  ;D

Alex, great idea! The usual accelerant kills my sinuses. I wonder if it works if you just mist the ammonia on the parts being glued, I love the smell of ammonia.

Ray, you just need to blow a little ammonia gas. No mist, just gas. I use a little bottle with a silicone tubing (fuel line) to help direct the blow. And it really works!

I don't care for the accelerators, either in aerosol or pump. Both are hard to control and apply way too much. I did find better way to apply the kicker. I put some in a small glass bottle (like a model paint jar) about an 1/8". Use a q-tip to dab it on the joint. The q-tip does not stick and is reusable for several building sessions. I also noticed Zap kicker is especially stinky and I switched to Bob Smith.

Will any inert gas work?

Ammonia gas is highly reactive, if thats what you are comparing it to. Ammonia has been used as rocket fuel, for instance, the engine in the X-15.

Scott, it worth a try. Norm has a good idea using the q-tip.

I also have switched to Bob Smith kicker (and CA and epoxy).
I get the refill bulk bottle but I got a couple of those $1.00 trial size hair spray bottles from a drugstore or Wal-Mart.
These bottles are small and have a real mister instead of a squirter.
I just dump the hairspray....rinse em' out and use one for kicker and the other for spraying water on tissue.
Works really good.
