There may have been a box to check on the membership form regarding whether you want to receive ads.  I don't get any ads.

I can remember the days looking forward to receiving the AMA mag. I had been getting the digital version the last couple years, but for some reason I did not rec. any this year. I found it was not worth contacting them about it since it is so full of advertising. I would just drop membership except our club field requires it for insurance purposes. Richard

Yeah, pretty sure that's how most of us feel. If it weren't for the insurance requirement, not sure I'd be a member.

at the bottom of the update your profile section of AMA is this:

E-mail has provided AMA with the opportunity to get information to our members in a timely cost-efficient manner. AMA on occassion partners with reputable firms to promote products that will benefit both the member and the association. AMA does not trade or sell E-mail or mailing addresses. If you would prefer that we not include your name, please check the box(es) below.

Please do not use my E-mail address for anything other than official AMA business.
Please do not use my mailing address for anything other than official AMA business.

I checked both of these and don't hardly ever get any e-mail form them other than renewal notices and some of the "we need your support" crap
