"Development" in Napa
« on: April 27, 2016, 03:34:34 PM »
Today, in Napa Ca., Dave (Mr. PA 75) Fitzgerald was caught on camera servicing his plane on an electric planes' UDT. Does he have no shame??
What's next for him, a real electric powered plane?

Well, I am not holding my breath on that one!

I am currently staying at Dave's place while we train together for Perth. We are leaving Saturday for downunder.

Our training has gone well. We have coached each other, and today was an especially good session as we both found mechanics issues with our posture etc. that when corrected made minor flaws disappear. Our equipment is working well, and tomorrow will be my last day of flying before packing to go. Dave will fly some Friday before doing his packing.

We hope to do well. The early nature of this world champs should not prove to be a detriment to us. El Nino has blessed us with some "reasonable" flying weather this winter and spring.  I trust we will do well.

We will report back in after the competition.

The very best to you and David in Perth.

The US could not have a stronger "Dynamic Duo" than "Paul and David".

You guys are proven competitors and can win it all.  You've both proven that many. many times over.

Go do it again!  Hard to say which of you will win but it will be one of you two I'm sure.  A One two three sweep is even feasible with you guys.

Go Kick A$$ and take names.

Again Best of luck to you both and to the rest of the team.

This has been a "unique" experience. Two top competitors both trying to do well enough to win, helping each other get better.

I want to say THANKS to Dave for his help. He found a stance issue I have had for probably a decade, and worked with me long enough to resolve those issues. Now, I just have to remember to make those corrections each time I fly.

I only hope my comments and help have been beneficial to him as well.

You guys must have had summer like weather there.
Now Henk and I have been trying to put in some quality training here, but the weather was colder and wetter then we've had all winter.
Making the batteries work at 42 deg is no little feat.
Like you, we've been helping eachother and we too managed to iron out some standard errors.
We left the 'ballet' part out of the equation so far, but we're inviting Dave to set us straight if must be.... ;D
Anyway it's great to be on the handle again and see you guys in Perth!

checked out their patterns last  Sunday.  Anyone who wants to beat 'em better bring their A+ game.  it's almost as though they've done this stuff before.  the big advantage i saw for the guy from the eastern northwest was that he was able to adjust his needle valve while relaxing in his recliner which had no oil stains on it.  In the air I couldn't discern any obvious superiority of one over the other other than one sounded like a model plane and the other like Shareen's ceiling fan on high.
