40 Year Old Flite Streak
« on: January 03, 2010, 08:00:31 PM »
My cousin just gave me a Flite Streak that my Dad built for him when he was about 12 years old.  My cousin replaced the silk on the wings with Monokote a long time ago.  I'm in the process of restoring it.  It won't be a flier, I'm just going to go over it and get it back to it's original condition.  I wish I would have taken a picture of it before I cleaned it up.  It was stored in his basement for the last 39 years or so.  I also have a Sterling Stearman that my Dad built that I have done some work on restoring.  I poke around with these in between building my fleet up over the winter.

I'm doing the same thing to some of my old fleet.. I have a Mr Mulligan and a Fokker D7 that haven't flown in 25+ years as well as an Sterling S19 Spitfire and SE5 that never got finished....well I've been working on the Spit a lot in the last few months although work has slowed a little since I decided to build a ring master to re-learn on...That's almost done too
I've started plenty...would be nice to finish something!!!
