Banjock's Mig @ Palisades
« on: October 14, 2007, 08:54:44 PM »
Thanks to Mike Cooper (CD) and the GSCB's for putting on a great contest today. The air wasn't the best, but everyone had a great time. The highlight of the day was Dan's pulse jet powered Mig 15. The video, courtesy of Al Knight, shows the first flight which was only 10 laps (set to lean). The second flight, not shown, was 18 laps which emptied the tank. The note was noticeably louder when the needle was right. Dan would like to thank Bob Wilkie and "Jet" Bill for the hand in setting up the Mig. It wouldn't have been possible without them!

Thanks Mike for posting this. Very nice video!

Did Dan get another bucket of water thrown on him? I see the circle is all wet. LL~

Mike didn't mention hat he was awarded a well deserved THIRD PLACE in Expert....a couple of points behind Young Daniel. The winner was Bill Suarez, flying an ARF! (a Score with PA-61 tuna pipe power).
The wind picked up significantly second round and Windy (4th), Jose. Danny, Bill and Mike all flew again....sometimes VERY exciting!

We say Danny fly the Mig at the Nats one evening in the
near dark. It was awesome! You could see the inside of the
motor glowing red, and there were a couple of spots where
the flames were coming out of the fuse. Very cool!

I think my favorite Banjock gag is when he breaks out the .010 powered Micro-Bi-Slob, and people chase it around the circle with butterfly nets and flyswatters!

When I first saw that tiny little BiSlob, I couldn't believe it!  LL~ LL~

Unfortunately, Danny Boy wasn't real forth coming in helping me out in trying to replicate it...........  :'(

Bill....
The .010 Bi Slob was published FULL SIZE, in Stunt News about a decade ago.

Rich,
Your thinking of the Stits Jr. Jr.

Bill,
What do you need to reproduce the baby Bi-Slob? Dan is lost in this technology age, so maybe I can relay some info?

Heck Bill, you don't need plans!  Get Banjock to mail you the slob in a shoebox, measure it and mail it back! ;)  No need for high tech communications! y1

OK . . . i wanna know who's responsible for the fine Robin Trower soundtrack. Bridge of Sighs is a landmark album and the Day of the Eagle track absolutely cooks.

rootbeard,
No, Banjock didn't get wet :( haha and yes that is the slob we are referring to.

Rick,
Al Knight is responsible for the video. He added his personal touch. ;D
