Stolen Scale Kits
« on: August 29, 2015, 12:27:15 PM »
Heads up-Last night my mini storage unit was broken into and 8 scale kits were stolen. Several Top Flight kits, Sig J-3 and a Douglas Skyraider kit. Also a Dave Platt Spifire and a Bearcat and a Jap 0. If anyone is asked to purchase these kits please notify me.

What part of the country are you in? Keep an eye on local pawn shops and Craig's List. Check with the local police on what pawn shops they watch and visit the owners and inform them of what to look for and how to contact you.
Hope you get 'm back and get the thieves.

Don,

Sorry to hear the kits were stolen

Hopefully someone from the flying lines community will spot them, there are also RC swap meets and auctions that should be alerted. Maybe send a message to the RC clubs in your area

more likely would be on ebay I think,, doubt a pawn shop would do much with them,, at least none around here

Most likely someone knowing their value.  An "outsider" would see the kits as worthless.

My storage building was also broken into some years back.. They only got a Makita compound saw.  In the same building were a couple dozen stunt models -some with $300- $400 engines in them.  Obviously not a modeler!

Starting to look like that. The little bit of control line stuff that was in there wasn't touched. Also some older dusty biplane kits, just all the higher tech scale stuff.
