Since I couldn't read the article due to the full page ad trying to get me to sign a petition, I will assume that the people in the article were behaving in an irresponsible manner.
I on the other hand like to take my quad,drone, up to the local park and fly it during the day . So by doing that I am using my drone for fun. Is that permissible in your eyes or do  you want all drones outlawed because of a few irresponsible people?

In general, people are not very bright. Having drones available just gives them another tool to prove it.
