The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

They didn't yesterday.  Hopefully they'll feel encouraged to order more.

I went there and wrote a "review" on the Cyclone props...more reviews might urge them to get more, sooner. Or raise the price, one or the other...  D>K Steve

Got tracking info from Vortex, my props are on the way.  When I spoke to the gentleman on the phone last month I informed him that they were a popular CL prop and he was the only US supplier. He assured me the next order would be bigger and would continue to stock them as long as they sell. If you like these props call him and let him know.

I inquired by email just recently.  Jody from Vortex, replied that they are no longer being made.

That's a bummer, glad I ordered a dozen. I guess I'll be looking for them at swap meets now.

I emailed them this week and got the same reply. I hope Jody is wrong. Is there anybody over there who could check with TT direct, or even into PRC, where they're made? Maybe we could offer to trade them T.U.T. timers, or even Tim himself?  ;)

There is a move afoot to get CF replicas made by ZZ Prop (Mike Hazel). Sadly, they won't be $2 each.  :( Steve

Not sure exactly is going on with the status of these props but my flying buddy received his back ordered dozen last week.

Really, isn't there other props that work just as well or better.   mw~ S?P

Other props just as good or better do exist but they don't cost $2 each.  I bought six of the Thunder Tiger props about two years ago.  The pack of six cost me about $14 or so.

If for some reason I can't use the Thunder Tiger I use the Brodak BY & O.  They cost more but work pretty well for me.  I have also managed to get the Zingers to work fairly well at times.

If the BY & Os should ever be discontinued I guess I will have to ante up for the pricy hi tech props.

Well, I would hope so, but the TT 11 x 4.5 worked so well on my Magnum XLS .36 that I always went back to it. I experimented with TF Power Point 11 x 4 and MA S-2 11 x 4 and neither worked for me. I suspect the MA S-2 11 x 5 might have worked, or an APC 11 x 4 or 10.5 x 4.5 might have worked, but I didn't try them. The TT worked real well for Pete Peterson's B.40 powered "Venus", but it took 10% nitro and the big .305" venturi to swing it. Randy Powell uses them sometimes on his PA .40UL.

Interestingly, I had slightly "buzzed" one of my TT 11 x 4.5 props, so trimmed it to 10.75" and left the tips squared. I found it would not rev nearly as high as the same prop had when stock, so I realized that the sharp prop tip was rather critical. Pay attention to the details; Thunder Tiger did. Their 10.5 x 5 works well on the OS .35S, and the 12.5 x 5 works real well on a ST G.51, too. It would be great to get Thunder Tiger engines and props back into the USA.  y1 Steve

What plane?   I had one plane that worked great with a Zinger 11-5 and no other prop.   The Thunder Tiger 11-4.5 work great on my Ro-Jett BSRE .40 with mini pipe on an over weight Tanager.

The B-40 is on a hand-me-down Magician, built in the 60's.
