a favorite site bites the dust
« on: June 30, 2015, 05:31:26 PM »
While not model related a favorite site for many of us posted their last pictures today with a message that they were closing down the site.

Both plane and wheel a day sites are now consigned to history. A real shame as I always enjoyed the daily offerings of both sites. Guess the sites will be up till 12.00PM and then gone.

A few minutes ago when I went for my routine daily check I discovered the news of Plane-A-Day shutting down after today. I've had it in my "favorites" and have checked it religiously everyday for at least a few years. Always really cool stuff with many never before seen photos, very sad to see it's gone.  :'(

Planeaday.com
Wheelsaday.com
Plane a day was just that, every day a picture of a different plane
Wheels a day was mostly cars, but also had a occasional motorcycle and even locomotives
Really going to miss them both.  First thing I checked when I got up..

I am truly saddened that such terrific sites are gone.....the DC 3 / C 47 into the sunset is appropriate...

I also checked it first thing in the morning.
Does anyone have a contact address where one can send them thanks for a great job, well done?

Plane-A-Day is gone. Sent Tom a note of condolence and thanked him for his efforts. A great site for aviation enthusiasts. Sad day as it was a great part of my morning coffee.

Plane a day posted a picture a year ago or so of an Electra on the ramp at Orange County airport. (Now John Wayne airport). In the background on the ramp was one of my dads PA11 cub dusters. I would have never had that picture without plane a day. Hate to see it gone
