It was a good weekend for flying. 37 Competition flyers showed up with an equal or larger number of family, friends and spectators. Started out a little windy with overcast skies and cool temperatures but manageable.
Friday started out with a few people practicing and getting the field mowed and marked. Half A combat went off in the late afternoon with two entries. They flew two rounds of double elimination matching which Mike Londke won with the loss of at least 2 models between them. Then they decided to fly another match which Don Stoneman won. Jimmy Welch showed up with a bunch of Vintage combat models with period engines. Test flew a Nemesis which had an abrupt meeting with the ground. Good looking models of which I had built many off. Ahh the good old days. Unreliable engines and many hours of building for a few seconds of glory or agony.
Saturday started the major competition activities with Stunt, Carrier and Speed Limit Combat being flown
Stunt had 24 entries (details below in PDF File).
Carrier had 9 entries (details below in PDF file).
Speed Limit Combat had 7 entries (details below in PDF file).
Sunday finished up the competition with the PAMPA events which had 21 entries (details below in PDF file).
