MONGOOSE
« on: May 20, 2015, 06:41:55 AM »
A Midwest  fellow I know who was once a very active combat flyer years ago would like to return to the hobby with his grandson.
He would like to build several Mongoose Slow Combat ships. If anyone has access to plans or better yet , a copy to reproduce, please let me know.
I will be at Brodaks next month  or it can be shipped direct to him at my expense.

Thanks !

Sorry, I don't have the plans.  But I recall that the Mongoose hit the market around 1975 and was well received.  It was a genuine Slow Combat design, not just a sport plane modified for the event.

Blackhawk Models kitted the Mongoose. They currently show it out of stock but they do have the Apocalypse. Very similar plane. www.blackhawkmodels.com/apocalypse.html

Here is a pic of mine built from the Blackhawk kit. Kit was 60. Wood was all good stuff.

I made a batch of about 4 Mongooses (Mongeese?) a few years ago.

Not liking to carve the leading edge to shape.

I did it with my router. A tool made from MDF as a guide, and a radius cutter with bearing.
