How Many Motors Of Each Type
« on: May 06, 2015, 01:21:13 PM »
As this is not a motor setup question, but a survey of sorts, I will start here. Of the motors that you have more than 2, how many of each type do you have?
I would like to start this off, with two of my most prized motors.

On the left, a Supertigre 60 Blue Head RC Pattern Motor.
On the right, a Supertigre 60 Silver Head NIB RC Pattern Motor.

Two LA 46's.  A Tower 40 which I feel sorta counts as an honorary LA 46.
Two Fox 40 Schnuerle, which sit under my bench.
A bucket full of Cox reed-valve 049's, which sit under my bench.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

I said fail because the question I said ...
Of the engines you have more than 2 of....
How many do you have.
I never had very many engines except cox .049's and i only have about 2 of them  now.
Nothing  else qualified for me...

Since you asked for 'motors':

1x B20-40-12L 4800Kv
3x AXI 2826-10
1x Torcman NT 350-20Z

Reading this thread is very comforting to me: I know that long before my shop gets broken into and the engine's stolen, someone will be hauling off cartloads of stuff from Floyd's house!

I feel like a lightweight now.

I have a dozen or so running cox reed engines, parts for another half dozen or more.
3 Cox TD
3 OS 20 FP
2 os 25 LA
McCoy 29
McCoy 35
Fox 35
Mk-17 diesel  (now listed in classifieds)
fox 15 schnurle bb
ASP 15
I probably missed a couple, but I am still a lightweight.

Under other engines I now have a Sterling heat engine, the demonstration type.

I said fail because the question I said ...
Of the engines you have more than 2 of....
How many do you have.
I never had very many engines except cox .049's and i only have about 2 of them  now.
Nothing  else qualified for me...

Jim, this is not North Korea, you are more than welcome to list whatever motors you have. H^^

It may not be North Korea.
But I have always found it strange that when Humans are asked about stats...or events...
Just like in a court of law....
The question gets asked and the lawyer will ask the judge to have the response listed as Non Responsive.
The stats become useless...a case in point/example......
Of the engines that you have more than 2 of how many engines do you have ????
engine a 4
engine b 1
engine c 3
------------
So of engines (a, b, and c) the above person has (4 ,1 and 3) or (6 ,3, and 5) of the listed engines ???
The stat as answered becomes either incorrect or ambiguous

Reading all the other posts with large amounts of engine ownership, I don't feel like such a hoarder.  I remember back when I couldn't afford more that one engine and one airplane.  All my C/L stuff was one-only unless it broke.

Today, I have bought so much stuff, I forget what I own. HB~>

It just got mounted on my first "big" plane, a Brodak P-40, this morning. I've seen a couple others on ebay and was waiting to see how this one does. But if I see anymore I can pick up for $25-40, I'm getting them. It just did too well on the bench to pass up.
Best Regards,
Bill

Bill, You're joking right?! ($25-40??????)  y1

Later, Jerry

I just finished cleaning up a brand new Enya 35 5224 I got off ebay for $25. It's a 1971 model. It's strange how someone will list an engine and everyone misses it. While people were bidding up used ones listed as an Enya 35, this one sat with no one noticing because it was listed as an Enya .35.

Looking for an Enya 6001, I found one listed a year ago on an RC forum. Contacted the guy and he's a collector in Australia. He sold the 6001 to a C/L flyer to test, the guy never used it and gave it back. It's heading my way with 2 venturis for $50 shipped.

So, in terms of the OP's question, I'm stocking up as I now have:
OS Max 46 LA - 3
Enya 35 - 2

Now "boxes full" of anything..........yet  ;D

P.S. Update: I'm now the proud owner of 3 Enya 15s. $36 or $12 each.
