Here are a couple of pictures of my rebuilt Super Ringmaster.  I had to tear it apart and replace the control system in it.  The old control system just wasn't smooth enough for saber-dancing resulting in many crashes.  It wouldn't get me through the preliminary rounds of the National Saber Dancing Championship as it was.  I'm hoping for better now.

Scott

p.s.: Notice that it has a Tim Stagg composite-molded custom built removable cowl

That's the pilot in the third photo.  He had complained about the old control system and had threatened to quit.

The Super Ringmaster is looking good. Does the pilot kinda look like "dinoj4" getting ready to have the big one to you?

It seems almost sacrilegious to keep tearing up a Super Ringmaster that way..... y1

I need to build a Super some day for Ringmaster day.

Its amazing what you can do with an "attic find".  First time I rebuilt it, I just replaced the leadouts.  But that wasn't enough.  So, this time I cut the top off the fuselage.  2nd picture shows what I found.  Yikes!  There's some really bad builders out there.

3rd photo shows that I re-positioned the bellcrank to reroute the pushrod, which was also replaced.

A Super Ringmaster isn't much of a stunt ship, but boy is she good for Saber-Dancing!

If you look closely, you can see my little pilot saying "Awright!!"

WOW     That pushrod was scarry. Nice job on the rebuild. I use to do all my solid leadouts like yours.

Thanks for biting!

We gots to talk John Brodak into it.  Since Dan Banjock and Mike Palko always show up there, seems like the right place to do it (since they'd probably win first and second place anyway....)

Now we need volunteers to provide prize money!  Who'll make the first offer?

By the way, what should be the judging criteria for what is and isn't a good saber dance?

Be sure to outlaw a string to the tail of the plane as that makes it very easy to do. Dan has used the string method.

Eddy: You bad!   n1

I suppose you could see the little wire hook on the tail for attaching my string to....

What?  You're supposed to do it with no 3rd line?  Oh-oh!   ;D

...worked pretty well at the 1961 NATS with two lines... and he flew and hung two at the same time!  Cheers,  John
