Stalled and disappointed!
« on: April 16, 2015, 01:00:16 PM »
Well I got a stomach virus and will not have my Viking ready for Huntersville in a couple of weeks.  I still have to build the wing and then apply a finish.  I don't think I can get it done in two weeks...... :'(  I really wanted to have this model ready with an excellent Super Cyclone .60 but it looks like it is not to be......

Disappointed in NC!

Sorry to hear that, Bill. Much the same here. Picked up and virus and will not be attending the Jim Walker contest this weekend.

Sigh....

My problem with finishing planes is the warm weather and decent days.   Now Big Bear take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear this Bill, best wishes for a quick recovery!  You've shown your toughness for quite some time, and this too shall pass ...

Sorry to hear it Brother Bill. Bill Winter used what he called his "Purple Plan". Everyday he did something like Jim says he does. Glue a few ribs, add a spar, glue in the bellcrank mount, etc etc. I've done this and actually its surprizing how it progresses. I haven't had time for my classic late night building sessions, so I'm doing that right now. Just like eating an elephant, one bite at a time.

The main thing is to get well Bill. You will get the Viking done later. Yeah! I remember Bill Winters "Purple Plan 1". I have used it to get things done before. Sometimes it is just hard to get started, and then we work around the hard stuff till it has to be done before we can go on. Procrastination is the death of any project. I have about 10 of them waiting to be done right now, and none are airplane related. Bummers.
