A Personal Thank You
« on: March 27, 2015, 02:29:22 PM »
I have received messages, emails and even phone calls from quite a few of you asking how I was doing since the Gastric Sleeve surgery a month ago.  I want to thank you all for the prayers and kind thoughts.  I am going to attach a video I made for facebook on You Tube about this and this will be the only one i will post but it gives a pretty good update.

Thank you all again

Mike

Excellent news Mike! Be safe and the rest will take care of itself. (I do like how you were able to get your clock to run backwards, and the custom reversed lettering on your shirt  ;D).

This is GREAT news, Mike!  I looked into bypass surgery before my cancer was discovered. Now I might just go for the band!  Keep following Dr.'s orders and GOOD LUCK!

Hey Mike,
Great to see you happy and smiling.  Great news about the weight loss.  Just keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep you in my prayers.

Expect to see you slender and smiling at VSC next year.  Maybe even a contest or two even before that!

Take care of yourself my friend...sounds like you're doing the right things!

Audio therapy has been shown to help the mind and body during the healing process e.g. The sound of balsa being cut, sanded, shaped ect y1

Great prognosis!  Thoughts and prayers continuing!

Mike, it is great that it is working.   Years ago the wife and I went on a diet.   Nothing like salad for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a week.  Then when the weight started going down it was then to a controlled meal plan.  No red meat, no corn and the other foods only in limited amounts.  Got down to 185 and then it was Church camp.  During this time every one thought I was sick or had something incurable.  I didn't feel good either.   Tried staying with it but the weight started building back up over the years.  Yes, I know that is probably the biggest problem with my knees but I am getting better with them.  Anyway stay with it young man.

Congrats Jim- just go easy like you are and follow instructions.  It still takes will power to keep the weight down.  I know several people with the band and with the full stomach surgery.  Several of them have managed to stretch it out and now are eating like they used to and put on weight.  Be strong!
