CL folks in Albuquerque...
« on: March 05, 2015, 09:21:56 PM »
I'll be in Albuquerque for 10 days before heading off to Tucson.

On the trip I damaged a wing tip on my Strathmoor.  I have some more silk, but I need to find a
source of butyrate dope in Albuquerque and a place to test fly the airplane.

The Albuquerque club is nmccla.org. Maybe that will give you a lead.

Right now Dick Perry (MA Carrier Columnist) is acting president. I'm sure he would be glad to lend a hand. The club flies at Maloof Airpark on the West side of the city. If you haven't been there alreadythe petrogliff park you pass on the way to the field is worth a visit. 8)

On what days/times do folks usually show up at the CL airpark ?

Do you have contact info for anyone that may have some clear butyrate dope
or a LHS that still has some around ?

Is there an airport repair facility in the area that restores old planes ?

Well, it's been a few years since I lived there so can't answer all of your questions. However, I will PM you Dick Perry's E-mail as well as the E-mail address of a few of the guys who are active in the club and would have what you are looking for. Good luck with that and at VSC as well.  8)

Saw the E-mail that was sent to the club regarding your visit. Let us know how it works out. The C/L Circles are to the left as you enter the parking lot. If you haven't flown at 5000' before you are in for a treat. Keep it high until you get a few flights in. It will be a good warm up for Tucson, that's for sure.  8)
