Larry Cunningham's MoBest WILL BE KITTED
« on: February 24, 2015, 12:05:17 PM »
Hi Fellows,

After a conversation with Mr. Robert Compton the other night and working out the details, I will be kitting the MoBest, the outstanding profile stunt ship designed by the late Larry Cunningham.  I have posted some details and a sign up list for the kit in my Vendor's Corner section, Griffin Building Service.  You can post your name for a kit there.  I am finishing up some take apart Magicians, Tutors, Flite Streaks and Ringmasters at this time and have some prior commitments lined up before I can start production,  The CAD files are in the process of being finished as well as a detailed instruction manual.   If the files I need are ready soon, I am  going to aim for sometime in April or May to get a prototype built to make sure everything is as it should be before I release the kit but it depends on when the files are forwarded to me.

That is about it for right now.  I am going to post a few pictures here of the model and the "Justice" and "Liberty" were Larry's last builds before he passed away.  The blue on was built by Robert Compton and the two yellow ones were built by Pipe Maker Mike in England.

Please go to my vendors corner section and open up the thread pertaining to the MoBest and sign up with your name there if you want to pre order a kit.

I want to add that I am honored to have been asked to do this project.  Larry was a first class designer and a wonderful human being.

Kindest Regards

Mike Griffin

Hi Mike,
Nice to see you're going to do another kit.  The MoBest is a great choice and truly a profile worth building.  An Excellent design by a really great engineer.

Will it be lazer cut?  I'm certainly going to have one as soon as I can get over to Vendors Corner!

Thanks,

I would like to point out that this has been a team effort finishing Larry's work in getting the Mo'Best kitted.
Jeff Goodworth in Australia has been working on the CAD drawings that Larry left, while the rest of the team is Mike Nelson
in England, Bill Jacklin in Albuquerque and Robert Compton in El Paso.  It was was Larry's wish that we carry on
his work and get the plane out.  We are pleased that Mike Griffin has agreed to kit it.

Mike, will you have some kits at the Baton Rouge contest?
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

Thank you Robert for adding that. Robert, Mike, Bill, and Geoff all put in a tremendous amount of effort to see that this model comes to the point that it is today. I am honored to be able to get this model kitted for the team thanks again Robert.

I thought I would post some numbers on the MoBest since I have been asked several times.  I have not received the final plans yet but this is what I was told.

Wing Span - 58"
Area - 615 sq in
Length - 41 3/8 "
Nose moment - 10"
Tail Moment - 17 "

Hope this helps..

Thank you for the orders so far on the MoBest.  I am told by Robert Compton and the rest of the team that worked on this for the past two years that Larry wanted to see the design kitted and your response has been great so far.  Thank You
