You know what's great?
« on: January 23, 2015, 03:38:02 PM »
Having a few phone conversations with old friends in the hobby, and being able to build the models we love.  I have loved this hobby for 50 plus years and have made some great friends.  Life long friends are priceless!  And their are so many great guys in this hobby.  I have only met one person in this hobby i would not want for a friend probably.  But I can tolerate him! LOL!!

And actually being able to build again is also priceless!  For a while the nerve damage was affecting my hands so bad that i could not really do any accurate work.  They are recovered enough now that i'm not scared to tackle a project!  I am so thankful for that.

So, to all those friends I have met through these "toy airplanes", I thank you for your friendship and may your days be long and healthy on the face of this Earth!  Bless you all!

Thanks!

My thoughts exactly! ;D

Now to make you even feel better and maybe inspire to something new, here's my latest ( you'll recognize my source of inspiration, I'm sure).
2015 will be my return to the handle. #^

You're 100% right Bill....something that I have always wondered at is the fact that National and World Champions are will to answer questions and offer suggestions; no matter what level someone competes. Even if the questioner doesn't compete, genuine help is available!

Through the PAMPA yearbook and the Internet our top fliers are available......I can thing of no other competitive event regardless of size that affords participants this type of access.

Have fun!

Yeah I often tell myself dang, I like being alive. Have done some amazing and memorable things with model planes. But, every now and then you meet one of the weirdest dang people on the planet. That's ok, it prepared me for trying to start a band through craigslist lol very entertaining any way it goes.

Hi Bruno,

That new plane looks great!  Great workmanship as usual.  To me it has a bit of a Kolesnikov Look to it.  Is it electric?

Can't wait to see it finished.

Thanks!

Big Bear glad you are doing better and still with us.   I too used to be on the phone for hours with people.  The wife said it was going to grow to my ear.   But, now with the hearing going I can't under stand or hear on the phone.  So the inter  net is the way now.

Ain't that the truth Doc. These young whippersnappers just do not understand until they get there themselves. I can hear most on the phone, but some people I just do not understand at all. Might be from working around pipeline pumps all my life along with riding motorcycles and running old spark motors. I can still see pretty good though. Ya just can't read lips on the phone. LOL. Hang in there Doc. As Red Green says " Remember we are all in this together, I'm pullin for ya".

Hey Big Bear, glad those chemo fingers are shaping up a bit.  Donna's are still about the same, but I'll tell her about yours and that will perk her up!

Hi Brother Will,

Tell Donna it is a slow process, but they will get better.  There is still some slight tingling numbness left in my fingers and toes, it is not really a problem.  According to the Doctor, it  will probably never go completely away, but it gets bearable.  I hope to see y'all before too long!  It's been almost 20 years!

Thanks!
