lead outs
«

I am building a Jr Flite Streak and am seeking a way to set the lead outs without making them adjustable, I don't want the added weight.
How would you go about setting the lead outs, then attaching them permantely to the tip?
Thanks

I would run the numbers using LineIII or just put them about 3/4 inch behind the CG (center of both lines).

i use pop rivets with the mandrel knocked out as the guide. Press the flange into the balsa tip and cover with a little bit of epoxy continuous over the rivet shank.

Measure the distance between the two lines and divide by 2, this center point is your tether.

Thanks M M, now is this using the measurement shown on the plan or the 3/4" behind the c/g that Bob was reffering to?

I never had any problem with the lead outs per the plans.
