Indian head aircraft logos.

Does anyone know the significance of the indian head tail logos on the B-25 and B-57?

   ...Hey Paul, The "Air Apaches" is the 345th Bomb Group. B-57's and Mitchels were assigned to it.  Cheers,  John

Mohawk Airlines serving NY state  and Pennsylvania starting in the 1940's. Flew it several times out of Endicott NY
They had the same Indian head on the rudder of there planes.

World War 1 saw the use of some Indian Head designs too, with the Lafayette Escadrille.

The Lafayette indian was different from the more modern ones in question.  This one was on Selfridge P-30's circa 1935, not Lafayette, either.
