Was working on the Tutor in the shop today and listening to Dean Martin singing my favorite Christmas songs. It just doesn't get much better than that. Love to listen to him Sing.

My " get to work" song when I sit down to the building table is "more than a feeling " by Boston. My"get pumped" song that I put on while driving to the field is a cover of "Land of Confusion" by Disturbd, though I do enjoy the original Genesis version too

Personally I prefer Jussi Beiorling, or Luciano Pavoratti, Kiri Te Kinawa is is very nice also, and Jose Carrares's version of Noel in french is wonderful!

Bill Werwage and I agree that Jackson Browne is the ideal artist to listen to while building... or while driving to Tucson for the VSC (We did that together nine years in a row!).

Emmy Lou Harris, Norah Jones, Sarah Jarosz, Allison Krauss, Amos Lee, and especially Albert Lee also get a lot of "air time" in the shop here...

My favorite Jackson Browne lyric line is from his song, "For a dancer," and it goes like this: "Into a dancer you have grown, from a seed somebody else has thrown; go on ahead and throw some seeds of your own. And somewhere between the time you arrive, and the time you go, may lie a reason you were alive... but you'll never know."

If you guys could see my CD rack as well as the cassettes plus 8 tracks you would wonder about my music. Anyone ever heard one called Black Land Farmer. Another one is Does Your Chewing Gum Loose Its Flavor On The Bed Post Over Night. There is a lot of country, blue grass, early rock and roll plus gospel.

What, no traditional jazz? George Lewis's All-Stars (Panama Rag), Lu Watters's Yerba Buena Jazz Band (High Society) or if you're English like me, Chris Barber's Jazz Band (Chimes Blues). Maybe nostalgia isn't what it used to be, but that stuff still takes me back to the days of my youth.
