What is "Tapatalk?"
« on: December 09, 2014, 09:51:42 PM »
I see this under a lot of posts:

...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And I keep getting advertisements for it on my Windows phone. Is it something helpful and worth having?

An app. Available for smart phones, probably tablets, might even work on a portable or desktop. I use it on my iphone. Kinda sorta facilitates log in for stunthanger or any other forum that supports the app. Lets me choose the option of scanning either latest posts, or individual headings. Also other stuff that baffles. Asks questions. An enhanced interrogation technique that makes me want to get out of there and confess to anything. But I use it. Contributing to our country's moral decay. (I apologize, in advance, for this terrible joke.)

A pain.  More features than a tiny smart phone screen though.

I tried it and then forgot it.  Has too many bugs and very user unfriendly.

Okay, glad I asked. Thanks all of you for convincing me to completely ignore it. I usually use my desktop PC when I'm on the forums anyway. To me, using a phone is like peeking at the internet through a keyhole. Though some people seem to love it. That's all I need to know.

Tapatalk is a slightly larger keyhole...or is it one of those fish-eye peep holes like on hotel doors?  It is worth checking out if you use a phone or similar on here while traveling though.

Yeah, it took me a little searching to realize the forum server has to have it installed in order for it to be of any use to another device accessing it.

On my PC I keep multiple tabs open and hop between forums, and my Outlook e-mail dings when a topic reply or PM comes in. So I don't really need it right now, but if I ever get one of the tablets I'd like to have, Tapatalk seems worth looking into. Thanks for all the replies.

At first glance I thought that 'Tapatalk' was a new Spanish finger food. ;D
