I have been having so much fun with my Boeing B-390 the last few months, I've decided to build one for 15 carrier, and maybe even AMA profile. The AMA version would not get bonus points because the plane never flew, it only got to the mock-up stage. It will be electric like my prototype. It took me quite a while to figure out the trim and other details on the original. It still is a bit touchy on high speed but 60 degree hanging is  very solid. No decision on motor yet, but it will probably be the same one I use on my current MO-1 15 Profile, which can easily exceed 70 MPH. The built picture is of my prototype.

Have you posted any pictures or details on the MO-1?  Would be interested in the power setup and installation.  TIA

Yu better hurry on this MO-1 build. As of 1/1/2015 all further entry of a MO-1 in AMA sanctioned meets is BANNED!

YES i'LL TAKE SOME PICS OF THE mo-1, AND POST THE DETAILS. IT WAS BUILT ORIGINALLY IN ABOUT 1990 FOR GLOW. IT IS SIMPLY A PROFILE VERSION OF THE GERBER CLASS I, QUITE SMALL. BEST IT HAS DONE IS ABOUT 225, IT JUST WON'T FLY SLOWER

Motor is an Exceed RC 3015 1400Kv, Nano Tech 4s 2650mah, 35c Battery, Turnigy Dlux 70A ESC, Throttle is 2.4Ghz, .015 lines. Full up wt about 2.1Lbs. Plane as stated before, a profile version of the Gerber MO-1

I have abandoned flying with one handle, currently I fly plane right, throttle left. at least through AMA profile this should be OK. I may have to go to one handle with  heavier, more powerful planes. The 15 MO-1 uses a standard 4" Hot Rock. gIVES ME MORE cONTROLL tHiS wAy,  i tHINK.

And what is that prop, about a 9-6?  Have you measured current at high speed?  I'm trying to get an idea of how much battery is required.

I've tried the two-handed approach - didn't like it.  I much prefer the conversion handles as they feel more like a 3-line handle.

When there is a glow motor to start, I just do it with the receiver shut off and the engine at about half throtttle.  When I get to the handle and get strapped in, I have my holder turn on the receiver, and the engine going to idle serves as a radio check.

With an electric, the speed control song checks the radio for me.
