Coming right along, is that your usual NAPA primer?  Nice to see you found a way to do full wheel pants on it. I'm curious though, why the separate inner cover on them?

I fly on asphalt and the light wheels wear out in 1 season. So I made the pants so I can change wheels. Yes same DC540 primer

 Another good video.

I've never bothered with one of those foam sanding blocks but after watching here I like the idea, I think I'll give one a try next time around. y1

I meant to ask earlier in this build how the perimeter sheeting around the wingtips is done, like on this model. I've seen this style of tip construction on occasion and it gives a nice clean overall look. I've always wondered how its done to get all the compound curves to come out right.

Robert,

What size three blade prop are you using?

Size and pitch?

Tru Turn spinner cut for that prop?

Looks good!

Prop is Master air screw 11x6 three blade. This is not the definite prop.
Spinner is Brodak 1 3/4  I cut it.

Oy! 24 days of sanding sounds a bit much to me.  VD~ Steve

Day 27 is now ready to view here http://www.clcraftsman.com/dope-finish-day-one-continental/

It takes you through all the steps I took thus far.

You must be a paid subscriber to view these videos. Starting at the end of the month I will be doing a 1 hour a day class on designing and building your ideas from scratch. No plans just TLAR.

Yep, my favorite way to build, just good 'ol eyeball engineering. ;D

How about some info on how you build and sheet this style of wingtip?

Robert,

Did I miss your "Wheel Pant" Video?

Do you have a Video on the construction of them?

I did see the video where you cut the openings in the wing.

My job is to make the video's your job is to watch them. Yes there is a pants construction segment. It's even marked as such

Wayne,

All these years in modeling, it's hard to believe you've never seen this style of construction on a wingtip before, or that you've never done it?

I had wingtips like this on selected stunt models as far back as the early 60's. i.e. my twin boom Ares, both of them.

I've also used this style in builds back in 2011 with The New American, photos were posted.

Here's the Ares twin boom wing, brought to life  and The New American.

You should try this, it's easy and light.

I can't believe this is the first model that Robert has used this style of tip construction on either?

Is it Robert?
