Which fuse version you building?  Larry had at least three different versions.  I have Larry's computer files so if you have instructions for a different version, I should be able to help.  First version is just balsa fuse.  Second version is sheeted
from the back of the wing with the sheeting at 60 degree angle and third version has convex formers sheeted with either 1/32 or 1/64 ply.  The last version makes a very stiff fuse which was the idea.  Each version was suppose to be stiffer than the previous.

I now have the file on a disc and have read it.   Larry was beyond his time.   Need to get a set of plans.   Now will a LA 46 be enough power.   I think it would with the right venturi and prop.

I ran a 40FP on my first three MoBests and it worked fine.  The past two have had LA 46.  I think it is a great combo.
Larry ran 40 FPs, Silver Fox 40 and a Super Tiger 51.  All worked just fine.
