we flew day and night competition in Germany in SCHWALMTAL
on the carrier Graf Zeppelin 2
in Germany we only fly the Class BCD (Basic Carrier Deck)
it was a great fun

Hallo Carrier Pilot´s

the story behind the night flight:
I have a Dokmentation Seen on TV over the life of the carrier pilots.
so what can do these pilots, the model is also possible.
we take Chemical Glow Sticks on the inside from the fuselage.
from 60 feet can be the setting angle very well Check.
and it is just as easy to land as by day.
It was the third night of competition
it also makes fun the whole F2B program to fly.

At a SIG contest many years ago the carrier deck was set up early.   Anyway it was after dark and I can't remember who, but they wanted to try a flight.  Had flashlights to get plane started and launched.  All lights turned off and the deck was almost like it had internal light.   Stood out like a sore thumb and if I remember  right the person got high, low and 100 point landing.

I see you guys like the twin engine stuff.

That was Brett Smith, me and one other (Melvin, maybe?).  We had glow sticks on the planes and marked the landing area by setting camping lanterns at the stern and the most forward arresting cable.  I don't think we did any timing but we flew complete flights and at least Brett and I both had landings.

I don't remember the lanterns as the deck seemed like it just glowed in the dark.
