The "Plan B" Nobler Trim Flight
« on: September 12, 2014, 10:42:41 PM »
Since the Mustang debacle a few days ago  I have  been fortunate enough to be bequeathed this long sitting on a shelf Nobler...or as I am calling it...the "Plan B". Keith Sandberg has had this perched in his basement for five years. Details are to be worked out.
My Prowler will be the back-up to this "Plan B" at this point as I prepare for the upcoming Carolina Criterium Conrol Line Contest in Huntersville, NC Oct. 18-19.
Been 20 years since I have been to a contest and back then I could fly about half a pattern. Gonna be fun and looking very forward to the experience.
This is the very first flight on this Nobler profile. A trim flight. Same Saito .40 from the Mustang. Keith got me all up and going with this and we bench trimmed it at the Firehouse where he serves.
It flew right good today at the very windy field. Put a couple of conservative flights on it. Feeling it out. Filmed it mainly to see the flight characteristics and to see if the wings are level in flight..
Gotta say that it tracked well but I had the first flight jitters. Still need a bit of trimming and such. Used 60' lines today.
Needed some redemtion after the Mustang crash.

Good to see you back in the air. You could loose a little nose weight by replacing that spinner with one of these..

Just turn the starter cone around in it's holder and use the end with the small hole.

Looking good and I see the mishap with the other plane didn't bother you much.

Thankee for that Will....trying to knock back the blue a bit.
Still working out some kinks in the Saito .40 so have not had a real good flight with the Plan B yet. Practicing up with the Prowler. Have a wee bit of repair and such to do on that but nothing drastic. Flew a bunch today with the Prowler. Had the field to myself. Gonna meet Keith Sandberg Sunday nd work out the Saito a bit.
Trying to get one more plane ready...still plenty of time to crash them practicing)))))
See ya'll soon.
