The CL extra doesn't track well inverted

The last update included a neat Gee Bee model. The app is a good time killer

Very cool.  Could be a fantastic training tool for someone learning to fly stunt.  First thing that comes to mind is that it could save some crashes as one first feels those first very unnatural moments inverted.

That's really cool but it doesn't completely simulate what happens when you're flying. I'll stick to my real world toys.

Juan demo'd his setup at our club meeting last winter.  It is kinda cool.  We all had a go at it.  I use Picasim on a 96" screen with a flight sim joystick controller.  My wife gets dizzy watching me fly.

I don't think he has any plans to mass produce them.  He tried to show some construction details in the video.  He just used one of his kids old game controllers, ripped it open and hooked up one of the pots to a bellcrank.

The worst thing what beginners do wrong is not to follow model by handle - what makes unwanted input to controls, I affraid this teach exactly that, so may be real flight will then take even longer than without that :- ))))

As I said on SSW:

Smell that? You smell that?
What?
Nitro, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of nitro in the morning. You can't get that on a simulator. The smell, you know that nitro smell, the whole field smells like... victory.

P.S. I don't care that it's actually the castor oil you smell.

Yes, maybe a fun toy but unlike RC sims, this doesn't take into account all the body movements needed to fly CL stunt. It was mentioned the wingover could be weird, but really all the maneuvers are unrealistic because there is no actual movement other than the hand. I really don't see any practical value in this except perhaps primary elevator training, what's up what's down. We've been teaching that for years without simulation. I'm not sold.

I've flown Juan's simulator prototype and I think
it would be an excellent tool for any new flyer to
learn inverted and most of the low maneuvers.
My only serious criticism is that overheads
were hard to follow.
I found myself trying to maintain line tension
by pulling on the handle which is pointless but
it really did feel like flying a C/L plane.
It can't replace real life flying but it would sure help!
